Here’s how you can check if you need the 圆4 or x86 (also known as 32 bit) version. If you are running 64 bit Windows, choose the 圆4 version. Infrarecorder is easy to use, free, open source and will enable you to create a CD or DVD with your data, music or a live disc from an iso file.įirst download the installer. Live discs allow you to boot outside of your Windows operating system to try other operating systems like Linux, or to troubleshoot problems. Except, maybe that sometimes I couldn’t burn some DVD ISO images, not sure why… I will report if I found something in this last one.If your new laptop or desktop has a built in CD or DVD drive, chances are you can create your own music, data or live disc. So far, I have encountered few problems with this software some small ones in some version of some years ago, but nothing since the 0.4x ones. I am just going to install the last version in a Windows PC, that I have to use now momentariness. I am wondering about the possibilities of it to be ported to other OSes.Īnyway, thanks for this small gem. I am mostly a user of other FLOSS (Free Libre Open Source Software) Operating Systems based on Linux, BSD, or even others like Haiku, Menuet OS, or Syllable that are now quite usable, nice and responsive, but when I have to use a PC with Windows installed in it, one of the first things I do is install ‘Infrarecorder’.Įven if Linux have very nice ‘burner’ Applications, I just would like to have ‘Infrarecorder’ in other operating systems too. And, those that have more features, are too heavy, bloated and complex to be compared to ‘Infrarecorder’. Many proprietary, commercial or freeware burners for Windows, lag behind ‘Infrarecorder’ in terms of quality, size, cuteness, elegance, usability etc. Not only is a gem in the Free/Open Source World of Software it is a gem in the Windows world of software. A small gem… I know ‘Infrarecorder’ since the very early versions and when I discovered that the Free/Open Source World Software had a CD ‘burner’ for Windows that was of quality, small, elegant, cute, responsive etc.
